Creative Writing Workshop Series

Facilitated by Best-selling Author - Neil Humphreys

The creative writing workshop series, facilitated by best-selling author Neil Humphreys, is supported by Sing Lit Station and SGEM.

This 3-part workshop takes student writers through the creative writing process from the start to end, and engage them in the collaborative process of writing.

Neil Humphreys is Singaporeís best-selling author with 17 titles to his name. A popular and humorous writer, Humphreys has contributed dozens of short stories for the Ministry of Education and Singaporeís National Parks Board to promote environmental issues. He also writes extensively for newspapers, magazines and websites in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Australia and UK.

Citing examples from his own work, Humphreys will share tips on developing witty, engaging narratives. He will then invite the participants to write their own entertaining short stories and snippets which will be read by him to provide positive and constructive feedback.

During these sessions, ITE students will work together with Neil Humphreys to create a single complete piece with the final work featured on the Sing Lit Station website and social media.
